Three to five strokes is all it takes to bring a dull blade back to a usable edge. The tungsten steel sharpening elements do the cutting, and because they are set at a fixed angle there is no technique to learn.
What makes it usable one-handed is the suction base, rated to hold up to 20 kg on a smooth surface. The sharpener stays exactly where you put it while you draw the knife through, rather than sliding across the counter. At 6.3 x 6.1 cm it fits in a drawer or a travel bag, and it handles kitchen knives, hunting and pocket knives, scissors and household tools. It is not suitable for serrated or ceramic blades.
