Slicing a bowl of salad vegetables by hand is the slow part of making one. This rotary cutter turns a crank instead: feed the vegetable in, turn the handle, and even strips, shreds or slices come out the other side in seconds.
Three interchangeable stainless steel drums cover the range - fine julienne strips, coarse shreds and flat slices - so the same tool handles a salad, a slaw and a gratin. Because the crank does the work, your fingers never come near the blades, which is a meaningful difference from a mandoline. A suction cup base grips the worktop so the unit stays put while you turn. Everything comes apart for rinsing and the drums stack inside the housing for storage.
